Popular image sharing app Instagram has been updated for iOS 7, featuring a flat design that takes stretches to the edges of the screen. This makes photos and videos appear larger on the screen. Strangely, the Instagram icon has stayed the same, which features textures and shadows that are absent from Apple’s iOS 7 icons.

While the design has been flattened, all of the buttons and features are still where you expect them to be. There’s still a toolbar the bottom of the screen for quickly accessing your feed, nearby Instagram pictures, the camera, notifications, and your user profile. The top of the app also blends in with iOS 7’s transparent status bar, turning it blue when you launch Instagram.

One more minor design change can be found with the new rounded profile pictures, which looks strikingly similar to Google+‘s profile pictures. It’s a bit odd as the toolbar buttons at the bottom remain square, as do the Instagram photos themselves.
