There’s good news for iOS Instagram users with its latest 5.06 update. The Lux feature has been improved with a new slider for more subtle application. Lux allows you to change the exposure of an image, adding detail and warmth to your photos, and used to be an on/off toggle.

In Instagram 5.06, Lux now has a slider, so you can find just the right amount of exposure for your photo. It’s a big improvement for one of Instagram’s most popular features. There are no other improvements to the app mentioned in this update. The Lux slider is currently only available on iOS, but we expect it to come to the Android app soon.

Instagram announced last year that ads would be coming to the service, as photos or videos clearly marked ‘Sponsored.’ Most users have yet to see them appear in their feeds, but a recent $50 million deal with Omnicom, a global advertising and marketing company, suggests this could soon change.
